Available from 30 minutes to days at a time, the car can be collected from its priority parking space 24/7, with no need to pick up keys.

So, for a bit of excitement, or a convenient day out in Hitchin, look no further. Here are our top five days out that are just a ten-minute drive from Hurlocke Fields.

 

Hitchin Lavender Farm

Hitchin Lavender farm has become synonymous with stunning countryside views, making it a much-loved landmark of North Hertfordshire.

Flowering between May and late August, Hitchin Lavender farm offers visitors the chance to walk amongst fragrant fields of vibrant lavender, sunflowers and wildflowers. Visitors may pick their own flowers and take photos, showcasing beautiful views which are sure to light up any social media feed.

 


British Schools Museum

The British Schools Museum is an interactive museum hosting a vast collection of nostalgic artefacts, telling the story of early education and childhood.

With three period classrooms to explore and even the chance to take part in a Victorian lesson, the British Schools Museum may be only minutes down the road but is sure to transport you back hundreds of years.

 

Hitchin Swimming Centre

If you’re looking for something a little more active, head to Hitchin Swimming Centre - a great day out for all the family. Not only offering an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, cafe and kid’s inflatable sessions during the school holidays, but also a fully heated outdoor pool!

Open from May to September, the outdoor pool brings holiday vibes right to your hometown and is an ideal day out during the summer break.

 

 

Graveley Fruit Farm

Enjoy a fun-filled day at Graveley Fruit Farm where all fruit is available to ‘Pick Your Own’! There is also a large children’s play area, tractor and trailer rides most weekends and there are even pet pigs to meet and feed.

Outside of fruit picking season, Graveley Fruit Farm still makes for a great day out with a crazy golf course and electric go kart track, all set against a beautiful backdrop of rolling Hertfordshire countryside.

 

 

Pots of Art Ceramics Studio

If you’re looking for things to do in Hitchin with a little more artistic flair, why not head to Pots of Art Ceramics Studio? Whether you’re a budding artist or just fancy giving something new a try, Pots of Art offers a range of arts and crafts activities. The studio provides all the equipment, all you have to do is take your creation home and give it pride of place.

Perfect for a rainy day or an excuse to get messy, Pots of Art is a charming way to pass an afternoon.
