Local school girls will soon see their artwork turned into welcome cards, used to greet new homeowners into the area, after winning our recent competition.

New residents at our Saddlers Lea development in Newmarket will soon receive welcome cards designed by Andrada, a pupil at Laureate Community Academy, and Laura, from Hampton Vale Primary Academy for our Hampton Lakes development in Peterborough, when they move into their new home.

To celebrate their win, we have gifted each a £50 Amazon gift voucher to spend; hopefully on supplies to support their budding artistic ambitions.

Fellow classmates, Keira, Taja, Mukt, Seren, Mia, Patricia, and Isabella have also been commended for their talented entries to the card design competition, with the shortlisted artists also receiving vouchers.

David Perkins, Headteacher at Laureate Community Academy said: “The pupils worked so hard on their card designs, so we are really excited to see Andrada’s artwork turned into a physical card for new homeowners in the area to enjoy.”

Shelley Richardson, Art Specialist at Hampton Vale Primary Academy said: “The pupils worked so hard on their card designs, so we are really excited to see Laura’s artwork turned into a physical card for new homeowners in the area to enjoy.”

Glenn Copper, Sales & Marketing Director for Cala Homes North Home Counties, said: “It was great to see the local school children get involved with this initiative and design such imaginative welcome cards for our new residents.

“It’ll be a really nice welcome for those moving into their brand-new Cala homes, giving them a touching reminder of their first day in the property.”

Our aim is not to just build houses, but vibrant, exciting new communities by building long-term partnerships during the life of our developments. School outreach programmes include presentations on site safety, educational visits to our sites, and informing young people on the career opportunities in housebuilding.
